Farewell Happy Hour at Cafe Asia in D.C.
August 16, 2006 -- The popular Cafe
Asia restaurant was the scene of our latest happy hour with nearly 30 people
attending. Thanks to David Lee (Heinz 2003) and Season Dietrich (Heinz 2002,
H&SS 2001) for organizing this event.
Fourth Annual Young Alumni Dinner in Georgetown
August 2, 2006 -- More than 40 young alumni converged on Mr. Smith's in
Georgetown for a fun evening of socializing and enjoying a buffet dinner. Thanks
to Jay Snyder (H&SS/Heinz 2002) for organizing this annual event.

D.C.
July 27, 2006 -- A small group of alumni enjoyed a delicious dinner of Indian
cuisine at Indique located in downtown D.C. Thanks to Joanne Gigliotti (CFA
1967) for organizing another networking dinner for alumni interested in the fine
arts.
Shakespeare Theatre Company in
D.C.
May 31, 2006 -- More than two dozen alumni and friends enjoyed an evening of
Shakespeare at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre in Rock Creek Park. Thanks to
Jocelyn Yee (Heinz 2001) for organizing the event.

D.C.
May 25, 2006 -- Thanks to Joanne Gigliotti (CFA 1967) who arranged for dinner
with a half dozen alumni at Mama Ayesha's Restaurant in D.C.
Alumni Book Club Kick-Off in D.C.
May 24, 2006 -- The kick-off gathering of the Alumni Book Club took place at
Kramerbooks & Afterwords Cafe in D.C. Thanks to Stephanie Wu (MCS 2005) for

May 15, 2006 -- About 40 alumni and guests attended a reception and discussion
with Dr. Lester Lave on energy prices.
Russian Arts Project Reception
and Auction in D.C.
May 12-13, 2006 -- Nearly two dozen alumni and friends enjoyed the Russian Arts

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Washington
Nationals Baseball at RFK
May 7, 2006 -- More than 30 alumni and guests enjoyed a Sunday afternoon of
baseball at RFK Stadium. The Nationals won 5-4. Thanks to Jocelyn Yee for (Heinz 2003)
organizing the event.
Alumni Reception with Dr. Jared
Cohon, President of Carnegie Mellon
April 25, 2006 -- More than 100 alumni and guests enjoyed an evening
reception held at the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center. Dr.
Jared Cohon spoke on the role that Carnegie Mellon is playing around the globe.

March 7, 2006 -- A dozen alumni developed the spring and summer event calendar
while having diner at Bertucci's in downtown D.C. Thanks to Astrid Rapp for

Cellars in Arlington, VA
March 2, 2006 -- Nearly 40 Carnegie Mellon alumni and guests plus alumni
from the University of Pittsburgh enjoyed another wine tasting event at Best
Cellars in the Clarendon area of Arlington County.

Washington Capitals Hockey in D.C.
February 11, 2006 -- Nearly 100 alumni and guests watched the action on the
hockey rink in the newly renamed Verizon Center (formerly the MCI Center).
