Help the Homeless Walkathon on the National Mall
November 17, 2007 -- About a dozen alumni participated in the 20th annual Fannie Mae Foundation's Help the Homeless Walkathon. Thanks to Thinzar Nyun Russell (H&SS 2000) for coordinating this event.

Entrepreneurship Forum: Small Leveraged Buy Outs - Arlington, VA
November 15, 2007 -- More than 40 alumni attended a fascinating discussion with keynote speaker Shirish Pareek, President and CEO of PartsZone. Thanks to Al Quaye (Tepper 1997) for organizing this forum.

Opening Night of Amy Lin's Art Exhibit - Bethesda, MD
November 14, 2007 -- About a half dozen alumni and friends were among the attendees at the opening night of an art exhibit featuring works by Amy Lin (CIT 2001).

Bombay Brunch Buffet - Washington, DC
November 4, 2007 -- Twenty alumni and guests enjoyed a great meal at Bombay Palace Restaurant, one of Washington's finest Indian restaurant. Thanks to Jillian Watkins (H&SS 1999) for organizing this event.

Pumpkin Farm - Centreville, VA
October 21, 2007 -- A half dozen children and their parents enjoyed the pumpkins at Cox Farms plus hayrides, slides, rope swings, and more. Thanks to Julie Wilson (H&SS 1999) for organizing this family event.

"O Hot Dogs Happy Hour - Arlington, VA
October 16, 2007 -- Remember the Original Hot Dog Shop in Oakland? More than 20 alumni enjoyed reminiscing about the "O" hot dogs (ranked 4th best in the U.S. in 2001).  Thanks to Season Dietrich (Heinz 2001, H&SS 2001) for organizing this fun event.

Sustainable Design Discussion Panel - Washington, DC
October 14, 2007 -- On a sunny Sunday afternoon, more than 60 alumni attended an interesting and timely panel discussion about sustainable design for homes. The panelists included professor Stephen Lee (School of Architecture), professor Bob Bingham (School of Art), and assistant professor Mark Baskinger (School of Design). Afterwards, the group moved to the National Mall to get a first-hand tour of the school's entry in the Solar Decathlon event. Thanks to David Vurdelja (H&SS 1987) for organizing the alumni attendance at the panel discussion. 

Pittsburgh Ballet Theater at Wolf Trap - Vienna, VA
August 21, 2007 -- A half dozen alumni enjoyed an evening of classical ballet with music by Frank Sinatra. Thanks to David Vurdelja (H&SS 1987) for organizing this event outing.

Screen on the Green: Casablanca - National Mall
August 13, 2007 -- More than a dozen alumni watched Casablanca on the National Mall. Thanks to Season Dietrich (Heinz 2002, H&SS 2001) for organizing this event.

Legg Mason Tennis Classic - Princeton Review Night at the Net - DC
July 31, 2007 -- Forty alumni and guests watched some great tennis at the William H.G. Fitzgerald Center Tennis Center.

Orioles versus Chicago White Sox Baseball Game - Baltimore, MD
July 13, 2007 -- More than 20 alumni and guests watched the Orioles shutout the White Sox 2-0. Thanks to David Hines (CIT 1996) for organizing the night out.

Yacht Cruise on the Potomac River - Washington, DC
June 23, 2007 -- What happens when Carnegie Mellon teams up with MIT? More than 50 Carnegie Mellon alumni plus guests socialized on the open top deck of a yacht which cruised by the monuments, National Mall, Kennedy Center, and Georgetown. Thanks to Dave Calvo (CIT 1995) for organizing this event.

Network Night Planning Meeting - Washington, DC
June 21, 2007 -- About 40 alumni attended a planning session for the Network Night Washington event to be held in March 2008. Thanks to Neustar for hosting the event at their office in downtown DC.

Pirates versus Washington Nationals Baseball Game - Washington, DC
June 5, 2007 -- Nearly 40 alumni and friends watched the Pirates hold on to defeat the Nationals 7-6. Thanks to David Hines (CIT 1996) for organizing the group's attendance.

Network Washington - Washington, DC
March, 8 2007 -- More than 150 alumni attended the 23rd annual Network Washington event at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill.

Professor Luis von Ahn Seminar on Human Computation - Washington, DC
March 7, 2007 -- The alumni chapter hosted faculty member Dr. Luis von Ahn who spoke about human computation. About 40 alumni attended. Here's a short PBS video featuring professor von Ahn.
